Common Core State Standards in mathematics challenge students to understand the subject matter deeply, think critically and apply their learning to real world problems. California is a member of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC). The state administers Smarter Balanced assessments as part of its California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) program. These adaptive summative assessments provide meaningful information about what students are learning and their level of proficiency. The result provide teachers and parents achievement information to support student success.

MDTP tests are used as a diagnostic, formative, and/or summative tool at Hall Middle School. These tests are used to inform instruction and determine student readiness in grade level math achievement. Individual diagnostic reports are provided for students as well as detailed item analyses and summary reports for teachers. The student reports indicate areas in which students did well and those areas in which the test results suggest a need for further study in order to be prepared for future coursework.
